There was good news this past week for Mary Cosby, Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star. She found out that prosecutors decided to drop the criminal charges against her son, Robert Cosby Jr.

What was the potential criminal case? Mary Cosby’s son was initially charged with unlawful sheltering of a runaway and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Even though Robert Cosby, son of Mary Cosby, star of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City became entangled in the snares of the law because someone called the police because his girlfriend was there at the time they were called.

When children or teens need a place to stay, they may visit a local shelter, ask friends for help or seek the counsel and couch of an adult mentor, coach or extended family member.

  1. Ensure that the child approaches you for assistance, not the other way around.
  2. Take necessary precautions to determine whether the child is seeking to escape from a police officer, peace officer, probation officer, group home, residential treatment or detention facility.

  4. Seek the permission of their parents prior to inviting them into your household.
  5. Refrain from knowingly concealing or sheltering the child from their parents or the public.

  1. The harboring adult is related to the minor by blood or marriage.
  2. The harboring adult notified the parents, law enforcement or the place where the child escaped within 24 hours of learning that the child was a runaway.
